You must enjoy working on difficult problems, have solid CS and algorithm skills, be comfortable talking to customers, and most importantly of all, be entrepreneurial.

Our first product is Comprehend Clinical, which specifically targets clinical trial data and is built on top of Comprehend Systems' technology.

UX/Frontend Engineer

You’ll be responsible for creating next generation visualizations and user interfaces.

Responsibilities
- Creating custom javascript visualizations
- Creating user interfaces in EXT GWT
- Connecting user interfaces to the backend Java Enterprise server
About you
- Have a solid Computer Science background
- Are great with cross-browser, custom javascript
- Comfortable with Java and EXT GWT
- Have solid frontend experience, creating a usable application from start to finish
- Understand how to manipulate data to populate your custom visualizations

Backend Engineer

You’ll be responsible creating the database that connects databases.

Responsibilities
- Expanding and creating our core technology, including metadata abstractions, join logic, speed optimizations, and more
- Must be comfortable learning new technologies
- Design and implement completely new functionality
About you
- Solid Computer Science and Algorithm skills
- Exceptional Java or C++ skills
- Demonstrated ability to create a system from design through implementation

Technology

We’re running a full Java Enterprise house. On the backend, it’s EJB 3.1, JDBC, JPA, and more. On the frontend, we’re running Google GWT, EXT GWT, Highcharts, and custom javascript libraries. While you don’t have to be a master in each of these technologies, it helps to have a basic understanding.
